  • Fenofibrate and Cardiac Health and Inflammation

What's the consensus on fenofibrate in relation to Inflammation as opposed to or in addition to Rosuvastatin or Pitavastatin? It seems to improve inflammation markers independent of its effects on lipids and isn't a statin.

I haven't heard anything about fibrates and inflammation. I used to take a fibrate years ago, and I suppose a relatively small number of people take fenofibrate these days for high triglycerides because of the issue with taking statins with fibrates in general.

I wouldn't take fenofibrate primarily for reducing inflammation, but if I was taking it for high triglycerides I would consider any anti-inflammatory action to be a minor pleiotrophic benefit.
