  • Cyclodextrin reversing arterial plaque?

This study found that cyclodextrin promoted the removal of cholesterol from arterial plaque in a mouse model and also in human atherosclerotic tissue in vivo:
"Cyclodextrin promotes atherosclerosis regression via macrophage reprogramming"

Treatment with CD caused a regression of 45% in arterial plaque - great news if you're a mouse!

A Google search turned up this paper

"Cyclodextrins as Emerging Therapeutic Tools in the Treatment of Cholesterol-Associated Vascular and Neurodegenerative Diseases"

which is a literature survey of studies in the use of CD for CVD, Alzheimer's & Parkinson's among others. Apparently in addition to dissolving cholesterol CD also dissolves amyloid beta plaques, although given that Ab might be a protective feature maybe that's not such a good thing.

Any thoughts on the use of CD for removing arterial plaque Dr Brewer?

Thanks for the tip. I studied it. And I did a video on it. John will have to let us know when it publishes.
