  • Nir Barzilai video about some of the latest aging research and investing

I thought that this video was interesting from a perspective of how aging research is developing, how many researchers are starting up companies related to bringing new drugs associated with aging to market, and the role of investors as big pharma doesn't seem to be playing the funding role. I found Nir Barzilai's comments about useful drugs not being brought to market interesting. He also talked a little about the TAME (Targeting Aging with Metformin) study which he thinks (as of Dec. 2019) will start in 2020 as an example of the difficulty of getting aging studies funded these days.

Yes, I have seen several of his videos. Here is his TED talk that speaks to the benefits of Metformin- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic1ddaSA5QU. As we have seen Dr. Brewer is a proponent of Metformin (at least he takes it). Does anyone have any negative information on Metformin?

There are two studies out now on metformin usage interfering with muscle building. Otherwise, the most common complaint is the potential GI issues of taking metformin.

Agreed. I'm investigating the muscle issue as well.
